Some more about me:

I’m first-generation American, born and raised in New York State. My mother was born in Cuba and my father was born in the Soviet Union. Early exposure to such different backgrounds instilled in me a deep-rooted appreciation for different cultures, languages, and travel.

Growing up I was obsessed with The X-Files. I credit the show with inspiring my lifelong fascination with all things unusual and mysterious, as well igniting my passion for investigation and imagination.

My life goal is to live in a castle.

Favorite thing to do in a new city?

Wander around drinking coffee.

Best travel memory?

Holding a Norman sculpture from the 1100s with my bare hands, attending a party in a Scottish castle, interviewing a woman in a nearly-abandoned Estonian town, visiting the Capuchin Catacombs in Sicily, boating in an underground lake in Transylvania, channeling my inner Anne Boleyn at Hampton Court Palace, the list goes on…

If I weren’t doing this, I’d be a…

Museum curator, archaeologist, Victorian/Medieval/Renaissance/Tudor historian, cryptozoologist, professional horror movie watcher.
